[Pindi-Islamabad:94265] Daily Qur'an & Hadith 25 Nov 2013 (20 Muharam 1435)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]

Ayat 221. Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend?

Ayat 222. They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person.

Ayat 223. Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars.

Tafseer of Ayat 221 to 223. Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend?  To people who maliciously suggested that the Prophet was possessed or inspired by evil spirits (26:210 above) the reply had already been made, but it is now declared that the suggestion is itself the work of Evil. Behind such suggestions are lying and wickedness, or at best same half-truths caught up in hearsay and twisted so as to show Allah in an evil light. They descend on every lying, wicked person, (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars.

English Translation of Hadith

Narrated by Hazrat Safiyyah, daughter of Abu Ubaid, (May Allah be pleased with them) reported on the authority of some of the wives of the Prophet  SAWW(PBUH) who said : The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "He who goes to one who claims to tell about matters of the Unseen and believes in him, his Salat (prayers) will not be accepted for forty days.''

[Muslim Book 26, Chapter 33, Hadith # 5540].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 222. They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. and Ayat 223. Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen" We learn from this Hadith that visiting soothsayers and astrologers for the purpose of knowing from them what lies hidden in future is such a great offense that he who does it, loses all merits of his forty days Salat. Some people try to detect the culprits involved in a theft case through the so-called fortunetellers or seek their advice in matters relating to business, marriage etc. All such things are unlawful because Allah Alone knows the invisible world.

[Pindi-Islamabad:94264] Daily Qur'an & Hadith 24 Nov 2013 (19 Muharam 1435)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]

Ayat 213. So (O Muhammad SAWW (PBUH) invoke not with Allah another illah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment.

Ayat 214. And warn your tribe (O Muhammad  SAWW (PBUH) of near kindred.

Ayat 215. And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you.

Ayat 216. Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do."

Ayat 217. And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful,

Ayat 218. Who sees you (O Muhammad SAWW (PBUH) when you stand up (for preaching).

Ayat 219. And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers).

Ayat 20. Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

Tafseer of Ayat 213 to 220. So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. That is, be kind, gentle, and considerate with them, as a highflying bird is when she lowers her wing to her offspring. Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" "Disobey thee" implied that they did something wrong, for the Prophet commanded what was right and forbade what was wrong. If, then, any of his flock did wrong the responsibility was not his, for he, like a good shepherd, tried to keep them right. What was he then to do? He would continue his teaching. But if any of them went so far wrong as to try to injure their own Teacher, Leader and guide, there was nothing for him to fear. His trust was only in Allah and Allah sees and appraises all men's actions at their true worth. And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves. Literally, the standing and prostration are postures of Muslim prayer: the Holy Prophet was equally earnest, sincere, and zealous in prayer for himself and for all his people. The Prophet's behaviour was exemplary in all the turns of fortune, and however foolish men may cavil, his purity and uprightness are fully known to Allah. For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: When this Verse was revealed: "And warn your tribe (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) of near kindred". (26:214) Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) called the Quraish; when they gathered, he said to them: "O sons of `Abd Shams; O sons of Ka`b bin Lu'ai, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O sons of Murrah bin Ka`b, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O sons of `Abd Manaf, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O sons of `Abdul-Muttalib, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O Fatimah, rescue yourself from the Fire, for I have no power (to protect you) from Allah in anything except that I would sustain relationship with you".

[Muslim Book 01, Chapter 87, Hadith # 399].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 214. And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAWW (PBUH) of near kindred" 1. This Hadith tells us that lineage in the Hereafter will not help anybody. So much so that even one's relationship with Messenger of Allah (PBUH) shall not carry any weight on that day. The only thing that will then help in salvation will be one's good deeds. People for whom the Prophet (PBUH) and pious men will intercede will be believers with some sins in their account and not the disbelievers devoid of Faith and good actions. Neither will anybody intercede for the infidels, nor will the infidels find salvation. 2. In preaching religion, priority must be given to one's own close relatives. They deserve it more than anyone else, and for this reason Divine injunctions should be first of all conveyed to them. 3. Even if a Muslim's relatives are pagans and polytheists, their rights of kinsmen and the demands of "maintaining the ties of kinship'' enjoined by Islam must be fulfilled. The first and foremost demand of their rights is that they should be invited to the right path so that they will be saved from Hell-fire.
