We currently have a Long Term Contracting opportunity for a Lead Build and Release Engineer with our client located in Washington, DC.
The client work environment is very casual and a cool place to hang around and be surrounded by technical professional who are passionate about their work and congregate to bounce ideas off each other.
Description
· Experience with all phases of a build lifecycle
· Experience with continuous integration toolsets
· Must have managed a Maven build environment
· Agile Process experience
· Excellent communication skills
· The Build Lead will:
o Lead the definition of standards for packaging deployments
o Enforce uniform adoption of those standards across all development groups
o Be responsible for actual packaging/deployment in production, QA, and shared development environments
o Automate deployments
o Serve as administrator of the source code repository (SVN)
o Own the creation of builds and coordinate the creation of source-code tags and branches with development groups
o Support and help troubleshoot production and QA deployments
Requirement:
The ideal candidate will be able to offer and implement a vision of how to define and lead the build management process from development forward.
· Able to create and maintain build automation shell and Maven scripts
· Expertise building and monitoring software projects continuously with a CI tool, ideally Bamboo, but experience with other CI tools (e.g. Hudson, Cruise Control) acceptable
· Experience with Linux
· Five years' combined experience in software development, build/release engineering and software configuration management with at least two years in a build or configuration management role
· Java development experience desirable
