Position: LIMS Implementation Project Manager

Duration: 6-12 Month Contract

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

We are currently seeking a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) Project Manager who have led or been a part of a LIMS upgrade/migration. The role is accountable for determining and delivering solutions to approved budget and schedule commitments while meeting required quality and compliance standards. Focus areas include stakeholder management (varies by stakeholder), risk management and delivery of business benefit.

• Oversee and approve plans for projects/programs, including activities, resources, costs, roles responsibilities and quality as defined in the IS Project Delivery Methodology (IS PDM)

• Manage and coordinate project / program budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, change management and status to support effective decisions and project reporting to stakeholders and steering committees

• Manage relationships with senior business stakeholders to ensure the effective capturing of business requirements and commitment to project/program objectives. Responsible for steering/stakeholder meetings, communication of status, issues, risks

• Drive effective risks and issues management, ensuring processes are in place and effectively used. Ensure problems resolved and escalate as appropriate

• Build a cohesive project/program team and provide the leadership necessary to maximize the team's success

• Ensure the project team adheres to all standards including IS PDM, quality and compliance as well as processes, defined technical capabilities and best practices. Establish program governance and lead Decision Point reviews, member Steering Committee meetings

• Ensure expected benefits realization is consistent with project deliverables and clearly understood by stakeholders and project team

• Support and reinforce adoption of project management best practices and IS PDM

Required Experience:

• 7+ years project management experience, within IT, with a track record of managing multiple medium to high risk projects simultaneously

• 5+ years managing vendor relationships and managing partner resources

• At least 1-2 years experience managing a LIMS implementation

Job Title: MicroStrategy Administrator

Location: McLean, VA

Duration: 4+ Months

Job Duties:

· Work as MicroStrategy administrator in the Enterprise Tools team to install, configure and support MicroStrategy environments.

· Implements product upgrades and performs maintenance activities, assists in troubleshooting system related problems and is responsible for supporting the overall availability of the tools infrastructure and the environment.

· Troubleshoot MicroStrategy infrastructure issues and implement required changes following the change management processes.

· Configure and administer MicroStrategy Cube architecture.

· Provide input and interface with platform teams, report developers, testers and end users.

· Understands Connectivity and SQL troubleshooting in the context of MicroStrategy reporting

· Strong knowledge of MicroStrategy project design

· Good understanding of fundamental server monitoring principles, techniques and strategies

· Experience with infrastructure level projects such as system upgrades, platform and technology migrations.

· Good understanding of monitoring strategies that focus on ensuring stability and proactive response to outages

· Knowledge of Operating Systems, Middleware and Database technologies

· Ability to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot issues with all MicroStrategy client tools

· Ability to demonstrate database concepts troubleshoot complex queries.

· Provide design recommendations for MicroStrategy reports and dashboards.

· Provide automation capabilities for administrative tasks in MicroStrategy infrastructure.

· Strong verbal, written, leadership, communication, attention to detail, and analytical/problem-solving skills required

Skill Level:

· Mid-level (3-7 yrs)

Requirements:

· 3+ years of experience in MicroStrategy 9 implementation, installation, architecture design and administration.

· 1+ years of experience working on supporting multiple medium to large size projects preferred

· Experience with Apache/Tomcat

· Experience with Java and Linux shell scripting preferred

· Experience with MicroStrategy SDK and Command Manager scripting preferred.

· Good troubleshooting techniques for basic and advanced infrastructure issues.

· Good relational database and SQL experience

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
