ROLE: BI Architect

Location: Midland, Texas

Skill Set: Pentaho 3.7

· Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers,

clients, and other stakeholders.

· Analyze and document user requirements based on findings, design functional specifications and mockups for BI front-end applications.

· Develop user interface to handle BI customizations.

· Upgrade to latest Pentaho release and modify existing dashboards to comply with latest releases.

· Lead the integration efforts for new dashboards including source DB changes, ETL and dashboards.

· Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.

· Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI dashboards, applications, and programs.

· Develop the semantic layer (cubes), metadata, reports, and report definitions.

· Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.

· Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.

· Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of development efforts.

· Implement and maintain BI solution for customers and new users

Detailed Description:

A Senior Cognos Engineer resource with experience in implementing multi server cognos implementations. Must have a solid understanding of cognos reporting and cognos user functionalities. Able to create new packages and Cubes by gathering user requirements. Ability to set up Monitoring for Cognos environment and provide support functionality to administer the Cognos environment. Ability to create and run Load testing scripts to test the environment. Training to the internal resources on the administration and monitoring of the Environment. Ability to communicate proactively with customers and support staff.

Must be able to architect Cognos solutions to integrate new data sources, create packages, cubes, integrate ETL scripts, perform load testing, BI data modelling, Cognos dashboards and complex reports working with the business customers.
