Strong experience with Cognos OLAP sizing, and troubleshooting
Experience in ITIL, SDLC, and change management process
Cognos transformer cubes, reports, and packages
Cognos 10 or 10.1

Day-to-Day
In this role, our client is looking for a strong Cognos Administrator to support 3 different BI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have started off in a development role, and advanced into administration. In regards to administration, our client is looking for someone who not only understands cognos, but also the infrastructure that supports it. They must have strong communications skills, and a firm grasp of Cognos. Their day to day activities are:
Work with project teams to make sure deliverables are met according to the project plan.
Work with various team on the back end (Storage, Network, Citrix, Windows) to keep the new platforms up and running.
Work with vendor (IBM) for escalation issues.

Location: San Diego, CA

Rate: SOA Automation profiles (this is a QA position with experience in SOA using SOAP UI tool/ XML SPY tool)

Duration: 6 Months CTH

FT salary $75 K Max Depending on exeperince (DOE)

Overview

We are seeking for an experienced QA Automation Analyst. The candidate is responsible for planning, developing/implementing the automation design, creation and maintenance of automated functional tests. This candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to understand the infrastructure and develop automation scripts. This position will require you to work with multiple QA members and developers, with different degrees of knowledge in automation. The candidate will also be working closely with Product Development, Application Development, Data Management and Release Management to establish deliverables, scope, and quality standards as well as meet timelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Working experience with API - should be able to understand the functions and methods provided for any API and use them for automation.∙

· Must have Experience with constructing SQL statements on relational databases ( SQL Server or Oracle)∙

· Strong experience in testing SOA Web Services using testing tools like SOAP UI/XML Spy or Visual Studio∙

· Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks

· Experience in backend Java application testing using: Eclipse/ JUnit

· Strong experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Python/Perl/C/C++/Java. Preferably JAVA

· Obsessively detail oriented and highly organized

· Good experience conducting performance, load and stress testing

· Ability to react quickly to a fast paced, rapidly changing environment

· Strong troubleshooting abilities to get to the source of problems and think critically regarding possible solutions

· Strong analytic and conceptual skills

EDUCATION:

BS Degree in Computer Science or relevant IT/Software testing experience

Minimum 7 years of experience as an Automation Tester

Experience with automated testing tools, preferred Visual Studio
