Description
The Business Requirements Analyst's role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements, reviewing existing systems, other artifacts to convey to development teams throughout the software lifecycle. This Business Requirements Analyst will also apply to proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. Person with experience in building construction, insurance/mortgage industry is preferred. Experience in working with onsite/offshore model is a plus.
Responsibilities
Review existing systems, documents and other artifacts to understand the requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, onsite/offshore development team and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
Conduct interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements via workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specifications.
Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions.
Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
