Position: Java/ J2ee developer
Location: Manhattan, NY
Duration: Long Term
As a member of the Application Development staff, the candidate would participate in development and testing of distributed web applications. The position is for an Application Developer who has strong experience with testing applications in a J2EE architecture. The candidate will be responsible for developing functions based on the established FRB system architecture. The candidate will also be responsible for learning the business applications and conduct integration testing of the applications in the Development environment.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the analysis and design of applications with the System Architect and Business Users (including business model, security model and Business components);
• Translate business model and user requirements into software specifications;
• Build application components and functions in Java on Websphere platform;
• Provide support of application deployment and maintenance;
• Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code;
• Develop documentation artifacts; and
• Production support during weekend/off-hours work, when required
• Support testing (Functional, Performance, Access controls);
• Prepare test strategies, test plans and test cases
Required Skills:
• 5 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 5 years of working experience with JAVA, Servlets, SPRING Framework, JSPs, JDBC, JavaScript, HTML;
• Strong analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, OO design patterns, and UML
• Strong testing skills a plus;
• Proven working knowledge of the J2EE architecture;
• Proven working knowledge of WebSphere or Eclipse IDE;
• Proven working knowledge of the Spring Web application framework;
• Strong Object-Oriented analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, OO design patterns, and UML
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Knowledge of application development best practices.
Critical Skills: Java and Spring Framework working knowledge is critical. Testing process knowledge is a plus. Hibernate is a plus.
Preferred Skills: Jasper, JAXB, JQuery, Subversion, Maven, Ajax, Junit, SQL Server or Oracle. For GWA application.
Education/Certifications: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience

The position is for an advanced Application Developer who has very strong experience developing and implementing applications using the J2EE architecture. The candidate will be responsible for building web applications based on the established system architecture and will be involved in the entire project life cycle (requirements gathering, development, deployment and maintenance).
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the analysis and design of applications with the System Architect and Business Users (including business model, security model and Business components);
• Translate business model and user requirements into software specifications;
• Develop functions and application components in Java on Websphere platform;
• Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code;
• Develop documentation artifacts;
• Support testing (Functional, Performance, Access controls);
• Production support during weekend/off-hours work, when required
Required Skills:
• 7 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 7 years of working experience with JAVA, Servlets, SPRING Framework, JSPs, JDBC, JavaScript, HTML;
• Strong analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, OO design patterns, and UML
• Strong testing skills;
• Proven working knowledge of the J2EE architecture;
• Proven working knowledge of WebSphere or Eclipse IDE;
• Proven working knowledge of the Spring Web application framework;
• Strong multi tasking and collaboration skills;
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills;
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and produce high quality products;
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics and arrive at sound analysis and judgment;
