Title:  Senior Windows Systems Engineer

Location: Emeryville, CA

Description

 

Work and communicate across multiple teams to help identify and resolve potential pitfall early in design of product features.

•             Analyze system trending and provide expertise for capacity planning.

•             Evaluate new systems and technologies against existing architecture, recommend system changes as required.

 

Job Requirements

 

•             6+ years working in a similar hands-on position responsible for systems and/or network design and maintenance, ideally in a SaaS environment.

•             Strong verbal and written communications and organizational skills and the ability to work well with other departments and varying levels of Management.

•             Experience with monitoring systems, including custom check specification/development

•             Broad technical knowledge of computer hardware, computer vendors, software deployment, and remote support tools.

•             Experience supporting various application stacks on various versions of Windows and multiple distribution of Linux.

•             Experience with LAMP infrastructures

•             JAVA Application Server and  Message Queue server experience a plus.

•             Clustering technology experience a definite plus.

•             Experience SAN and NAS storage foundations (Hitachi, Network Appliance, etc.)

•             Experience working with SQL (SQL Server, MySQL)

•             Experience with Scripting language

•             Advanced knowledge in Database Administration, Storage Management, Backup & Recovery, Performance Monitoring, Tuning, Database Integrity & Security.

•             Deep understanding of DNS

•             Familiarity with the functionality and operation of  load-balancers, firewalls, and other network equipment

•             Familiarity and understanding of the OSI model and a real understanding of TCP a definite plus.

•             Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload autonomously.

•             The position requires being part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.

•             Any relevant certification a plus.
