[Outsource:50784] JOB:

Hi All,

This is a Very urgent requirement. Client is looking for a Java Developer not the J2EE engineer  for a 6+ months (with a high probability of an extension ) project in Plymouth,  MN.

Here are some bullets I would add based on what I heard today:

1. I think someone who has extensive consulting experience would be better than someone who this is their first consulting gig, if they are coming from a corporate IT background

2. Someone who has done a lot of core Java development vs. someone who has done a lot of J2EE development

3. Someone who has actually worked in a SCRUM environment (not just someone who uses the word Agile).  SCRUM would consist of daily stand-ups, short iterations, delivery teams that consist at least of developers and QA

4. Someone who has worked in an XP environment and who indicates that they enjoyed working in this type of environment.  The main aspect of this environment that I would focus on is pair programming.  It would have to be someone who has actually done pair programming and believes it is a good way of working.

5. Whatever the person has experience with they will have to be able to really demonstrate experience with it.  For example, it is not a showstopper if you don't have Flex experience but if you do you better have REAL experience not book experience.  So, if you just have some exposure to it it's probably best to not even put it on the resume.

6. Experience with other programming languages.  They list Ruby, Smalltalk or LISP.  I think they would be happy with exposure to any other OO programming language.  The main thing they want is someone who hasn't just been doing Java their whole software life.

7. I get the impression that they may cut a lot of corners in the interest of performance or other reasons so the person can't be a SOA idealist i.e.
