**Someone who has primarily been using Installsheild will not be successful in this role. The manager needs candidates who have been building installers from scratch and doing proactive debugging. Preferred languages: Perl, powershell, C#
Be a core part of Apple's development process by joining the team responsible for building and integrating all of Apple's products for Microsoft Windows. We work with engineering teams to build, package, localize, and ship iTunes, Safari, QuickTime, and several other products to millions of customers.
We are looking for an energetic problem solver with engineering experience/education, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong work ethic. The candidate must possess the programming and debugging expertise to tackle a variety of technical problems, as well as the communication skills to work effectively with non-technical colleagues. Development experience on Windows is required. Additionally, Windows administration, Unix development, and Unix administration experience is preferred.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
* Working with Apple development teams to configure their project code base
* Performing software builds of Windows applications and frameworks
* Configuring and debugging complex MSI and packaging issues.
* Troubleshooting and resolving complex integration issues
* Working on several concurrent projects and able to quickly adjust priorities as required
* Developing tools and processes to improve and automate workflow
* Working cross functionally with teams across Apple to ship products
* Ensuring that Apple ships software in accordance within legal regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley
Required Experience:
* BSCS, MSCS, or equivalent experience
* New grad to 4 years experience in software industry
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Windows development experience with Visual Studio
* Experience authoring, deploying, and debugging MSIs
* Significant knowledge of Perl and shell scripting
* Experience working with version control software such as SVN or CVS
Preferred Experience:
* Experience with Windows systems administration
* Experience with Unix systems administration
* Experience working on large projects
* Familiarity with build systems
* Windows programming in a professional software development environment
* Configuring build settings within Visual Studio as well as writing Makefiles
* Experience in a testing environment such as a Quality Assurance (QA) group
