COGNOS Developer Job description
Important skills: Solid experience in both Framework Manager and Report Studio
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the design, development, customization and deployment of Cognos 8 business intelligence reports.
- Analyzing business intelligence (BI) and reporting requirements, producing a range of reports, and developing value-add BI solutions.
- Determining functional report and data warehouse requirements; and writing functional specifications and designs based on those requirements.
- Other various Cognos related activities as assigned.
Required Skills:
· Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related engineering disciplines.
- Solid understanding on Data warehouse concepts with complete DW lifecycle and data modeling experience.
- 5+ years experience using Cognos suite of products (Framework Manager, Transformer, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, and Metric Studio) required. Must have at least 3 years of solid experience with the Cognos v8 suite.
- Excellent working knowledge with Oracle databases (10g required)
- Document applications/systems in order to define the technical processes that have been used to solve the client needs/business processes of an application or system.
- Cognos professional certifications are preferred, but not mandatory.
- Hands on working experience in the healthcare Industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
