Job Description:   SharePoint User Support Specialist will provide 2nd level support to our users, be point of contact for technical team for both development and support issues, maintain and implement best practices and governance and streamline processes to deliver quick and quality support.

 

Responsibilities: SharePoint Support Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of SharePoint customer issues which are not be handled by the 1st level basic customer support team. The 2nd level user support is complex and involved beyond basic set ups,  which include trouble shooting web parts, set up of complex web sites,  feature deployment, workflows, profiles  search and migration execution. The SharePoint User Support Specialist will bring operational leadership with a focus on efficiencies through effective promising, monitoring and operational metrics reporting. The Specialist will work with team members, various lines of businesses and Technology to handle incoming requests, including and helping prioritize multiple parallel projects across organization and some resource management. This position involves regular communication with management on status, risks and emergent issues.

 Specialist will handle escalations on customer issues and be the point for development team when support is needed at development level.

 Specialist will also create, maintain, and implement best practices for SharePoint with delicate balance of technology and business needs and put in place processes and procedures to increase efficiency of the team with goal to build high performance teams. Over and above the Specialist will manage the maintenance and governance per best practices.

Required Skills:

¨ 3-5 years of relevant business experience in SharePoint Services WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 SharePoint product features

¨ Experience with SharePoint architecture and enterprise initiatives, such as collaborative tools, portals, enterprise search, content management, business workflows and forms

¨ Strong competency with the business data catalog (BDC), configuration of search and personalization options, InfoPath forms and workflow definition

¨ Knowledge of SharePoint designer, experience with the design and implementation of custom web parts

¨ Knowledge of project life cycle for web applications using various methodologies such as iterations and agile/SCRUM

¨ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

¨ Ability to learn new products, systems, applications and technologies

¨ Leadership and teamwork skills

¨ Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

¨ Creative and strong customer and product-oriented mindset

¨ Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail


Preferable Skills:

¨ Product and or project management experience

¨ Experience in SharePoint Services MOSS 2010

¨ Knowledge of web applications

¨ Knowledge of user interface design

¨ Functional testing experience Familiarity with FAST

¨ Experience with 2010 SharePoint

¨ Hours: Normal business hours
