Project Manager – Investments
Location: San Francisco.
Duration: 6 month plus
Need GC's and citizens only
This individual will be responsible for leading a diverse multi-functional project team to build-out our new Global Investment strategy for Wealth Management Group. The individual will work with investment strategy, product management, manager research, operations and tools and systems groups to develop and implement a holistic global investment capability. This project will include defining and documenting complex project requirements and business cases, including statements of work. Develop and manage entire project management process from end to end including complex project plans, budgets, issues lists, timelines, approvals, progress reports and other critical project management documentation. Provide periodic updates to CIO and IM leadership team. Will require management and/or oversight of a series of projects associates with this strategy including trading, custody, statements, equity and fixed income strategies, operations, client documentation etc. .
Responsibilities:
· Able to manage large project team and subject matter experts
· Manage projects to successful On Time/On Scope/On Budget delivery.
· Escalate issues appropriately to business sponsors.
· Proactively identify and communicate risks to the project.
· Provide regular, thorough status reporting on projects.
· Develop a detailed project plan that identifies all tasks that need to be completed in the project, milestones, solutions, corrective actions to problems or issues (this requires bringing the right people into the resolution process at the right time), anticipation of problems, and facilitation of scope management.
· Provide direction for the project team to assure that the assigned deliverables meet the given deadlines.
· Resolve project road blocks; manage issues and risks related to the project.
· Provide project status back to the Project Sponsor.
· Facilitate cross-organizational communication.
· Motivate the team and ensure that the project moves forward with consistency.
Requirements:
· 10+ years of project management experience in the Financial Services industry, the candidate should have more than superficial familiarity with Investments, Trusts and or Brokerage.
· Experience within international and/or global investment management line of business
· Some understanding of global markets
· Strong project methodology background, PMI not required but solid project process knowledge a must
· Experience working across multiple business lines
· Demonstrated ability to manage a team, prioritize and execute against conflicting demands and situations.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills – provide example of business analysis/business requirements document.
· Advanced user of the following applications: MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
· Self-starter that is driven for finding solutions to issues and demonstrate the ability to think creatively and independently in providing suggestions to achieve positive results.
· Bachelor's degree.
