Title: UI Designer/Graphic/Human Factor Specialist
Location: Jacksonville FL
Length: 6+ months
Senior Graphic Specialist
Online graphic artist with BFA and 3 years of web design experience. Familiar with human factors usability principles. Provides creative design solutions and advanced capabilities such as GUI screen design, icon creation, site mapping and graphic treatment concepts. HTML prototyping skills a plus.
· Three years of experience in information and/or interaction design
· Interpreting Use case requirements and user scenario development
· Site navigation and application design
· User interface design, and other aspects of user-centered development.
· Experience in gaining active end-user involvement in the specification, design, and implementation phases.
· Familiarity with current usability research, theories and methodologies (especially user-centered design processes).
· Design expertise specializing in web based slim client GUI applications for the enterprise.
Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions:
· Creativity, organization, maturity and ability to meet specific deadlines under rigorous production conditions
· Strong fluency of electronic art packages and tools (CS2 Photoshop,
Illustrator, Visio2003, Power Point, etc.). HTML/CSS skills a plus
· Requires graphic design skills including screen layout, icon development and other visual elements
· Strong combination of creative and technical skills – with rapid output
· Must have the ability to listen and discern strategic concepts, then affect graphics based on feedback in iterative cycles
· Ability to work with and take direction
· Good communications skills both written and oral
· Appreciation of cross-functional team culture in a very large organization
Qualifications:
· Degree from accredited art school with emphasis in graphic
design and composition, illustration, visual communications
or related field, or equivalent work experience, with demonstrated knowledge of graphic design --with emphasis on usability for electronic applications
· Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
· Portfolio of samples for online discussion and rationale
· Drug-free work place
