Our client is looking for an Oracle Systems Administrator for a 6 month contract opportunity located in Mather, CA.
• For this position, the primary focus is Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle Clusterware
• Install and manage AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Oracle Enterprise Linux
• Install and manage PowerHA (HACMP), Red Hat Cluster Suite, and Oracle Clusterware (Grid and RAC)
• Working on IBM RS/6000-pSeries-System p-Power systems (HMC, PowerVM, NIM, etc.)
• HP x86 and x86_64 servers, rack mount and blades
Basic skills
• project planning/management
• documentation/technical diagrams
• OS and system troubleshooting
• collaborate within the team as well as ability to work independently
• build and maintain a relationship with other teams
• communication - speak effectively for both a technical and non-technical audience
Desirable Knowledge
• Change Management principles and guidelines
• Disaster Recovery principles and product familiarity (Tivoli Storage Manager)
• ITIL concepts
• VMware basics
Physical Requirements
• rotational on-call, which requires potential after hours support and week-end work
• Some travel is expected for training and remote affiliate setup and support
