Software QA Specialist

Duration: 12 months
The Software QA Specialist is primarily a technical testing role working with an integrated team of developers, product managers and testing analyst.
Skills Needed
Testing administration and test execution skills.
Technical writing skills to develop test plans and protocols.
Good analytical skills.
Proven problem solving skills.
Skills and in the use of technologies for detecting and tracking defects.
Communication skills, to communicate information effectively to marketing, managers and technical staff.
Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during the testing process.
Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as product management, and engineering).
Knowledge of modern test methodologies.
Knowledge in concepts of databases, Windows based applications and browser based applications.
Understanding of quality assurance processes and methods used in software development.
An understanding of how to practice software testing administration and execution according to standard software development life cycles in a team environment.
Knowledge of product management concepts and how software products are positioned and developed.
Knowledge of FDA regulated product development environments, to have credibility with user representatives and be able to work effectively with them in a team based environment.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle.
Design and implement test scenarios and cases, with a focus on features, functions and ad-hoc/exploratory testing.
Create and implement test plans and test scripts.
Design and development of testing tools to support test automation.
Lead all technical testing efforts including functional, ad-hoc/exploratory and performance testing.
Provide development support of software products by investigating and recreating test defects.
Work with multiple interfaces and be familiar with standard web and Windows based architectures.
Train and mentor other analysts in testing methodology and the software lifecycle.
Create software testing reports that include test execution progress/schedules, requirements traceability/coverage and defect tracking.
Assist in the implementation of SQA standards.
