Job Description:

This is a Design Integration and Architecture (DI&A) position for an Application Technology Specialist. Performs work that is highly complex and varied in nature. Develops integrated solutions to resolve highly complex technical and business issues. Recognized expert internally and externally within a discipline(s) and often provides strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services. May lead projects and provide guidance/training to more junior staff but no direct report relationship. Key to role is multi-functional expertise and integrating solutions to design one global system.

 

While this position will be instrumental in the design and development of global solutions enabling standardized business processes with SAP and associated software, it will also be important as an ongoing position in the post-production environment. The position also is responsible for integrating multiple initiatives into the pre- and post-production environments.

 

This challenging position requires broad cross-functional knowledge with a specific focus on supply chain, customer facing or finance areas. This position works with Design Integration and Architecture (DI&A) team to provide solution architecture support to process teams using SAP and functional expertise ensuring a well integrated and standardized design meeting design principles (leveraging standard software functionality with alternative options) for filling capability gaps.

 

The individual will interact with project and process teams including business and IT resources across the globe and will manage/lead Design Methodology, Fit/Gap Analysis, and Recommendations for Design Issues, Design Reviews, and Integration. This position requires consulting skills to offer and negotiate the best practice based solutions at various levels of management including senior project leadership.

 

The position reports to Design Integration and Architecture Team Lead, working with others on the various projects, including an ongoing very large business ERP implementation.

 

(1) Act as a Solution Architect on the Design and Architecture Team.

(2) Analyze business requirements and provide best fit technology design and solution aligned to best practices and guiding principles. Evaluate alternatives and provide recommendation where there are systems gaps in meeting business requirements.

(3) Address design issues and facilitate them to resolution by working across cross-functional and process teams, both business and IT.

(4) Conduct design reviews to ensure design deliverables from respective process design teams meet design guidelines, with solutions being standard and scalable. Provide value-add comments or recommendations to better the design or solution.

(5) Conduct and/or facilitate workshops across process teams to drive integration between business processes and design.

(6) Coordinate across multiple teams to drive solutions. Must have good facilitation and influencing skills.

(7) Understand SAP and other associated technology roadmaps to provide direction on continuous improvement of business solutions and technology.

(8) Interact with Implementation teams to support wave methodology, design, and execution.

(9) Provide thought leadership and strategic direction to align business and IT needs with best practices and solutions through creativity, past experience, out-of-the-box thinking, etc.

(10) Understand existing architecture and solution deployment. Evaluate business demand against existing and future capabilities and recommend best solution alternatives.

(11) Define solution ideas, socialize, and sell/influence decision making.

(12) Serve as an individual contributor as well as a people lead, depending on assigned role in a matrixed organization.

 

Skills/Education Required:          

(1) 10+ years of IT experience.

(2) Just have experience with business process design and strong aptitude for solution architecture, design, and integration.

(3) Solid experience with core SAP modules (in version ECC 6.0 is a plus) and other SAP new dimension products used to support Supply Chain planning and execution.

(4) In-depth knowledge of and experience with the functional and cross-functional integration capabilities of SAP-based Supply Chain planning and execution processes.

(5) Must have strong communication and influencing skills.

(6) Must have experience with multiple SAP implementations, including at least one global implementation.

(7) Sufficient business and technical knowledge / experience in Supply Chain process areas in order to understand an ''as is'' state and the requirements, issues, and concerns associated with the migration to a “future state”, proposing solutions / architecture improvements required for the migration and within the desired ''future state''.

(8) Must have technical and business strategy and visioning experiences.

(9) Must exhibit and have experience with conceptual to detail level thinking and translation of information between business and technical to facilitate communications with various audiences

(10) Strong process orientation and experience, understanding the value of process and its limitations. Strong integration of process and technology knowledge.

(11) Experience in multiple businesses and previous leadership of projects that span multiple regions is a plus.

(12) Bachelor's degree is required.
