Duration: 6 months +
The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated leader whose management style is
founded in collaboration and driving buy-in. The job requires excellent
technical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a motivational
capability and preferably knowledge of data warehousing and/or business
intelligence offerings and solutions.
This position involves regular communication with senior management and business
stakeholders and is accountable for driving the entire project lifecycle, from
definition through specification, coding, quality assurance and rollout.
This Senior Technical Project Manager may also fill a release manager role in
coordinating the scoping, planning, execution and implementation of complex and
highly integrated scheduled releases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Lead program-level projects of diverse scope and high complexity
-Use established project management methodologies/tools to develop and execute
project plans including – work plans, schedules, milestones, critical paths,
project scope
-Demonstrate good judgment and depth of experience in selecting methods and
techniques for obtaining solutions
-Obtain/manage/reallocate resources to meet necessary goals
-Develop and maintain project schedule, identify and track milestones and
identify and manage cross-functional dependencies
-Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders and management
-Motivate the project teams, driving consensus and collaboration
-Evangelize the principles and business value of the PMO throughout the
organization
-Form, motivate, and lead high-performance cross-functional teams
-Build effective partnerships with, and between, the Development Group,
Architects, Business and Quality Analysts, and Product Managers
-Deliver a consistent and high quality service to our internal and external
customers
-Coordinate efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets; as well as
analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout
the organization
-Resolve a wide range of issues using innovative, creative, or practical ways
-Manage teams that may include off-shore resources and multiple time-zones
-Execute project within established Capital and Expense budgets, with monthly
trend analysis and appropriate adjustments
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
-Assist in conducting team building/development activities
-Contribute to performance appraisals for team members
-Make presentations to IT management, sponsors, and/or vendors
-Participate in recruiting and hiring of team members
-Actively participate in and contribute to the development and evolution of the
PMO
Requirements:
-BA / BS degree or equivalent experience
-Demonstrated ongoing professional development in the field of project
management
-A minimum of 5 years experience in managing highly complex projects preferably
focused on delivering data warehousing or business intelligence solutions
-Proficiency in project management and office software
-In depth understanding of an SDLC
-Excellent business communication, facilitation, writing and interpersonal
skills
-Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities
-Scrum Master certification and experience in Agile are a plus
