Dil-e-veeran hai, teri yaad hai, tanhai hai
Zindagi dard ki baho mai simat aayi hai

Khuda ke baad ek tera tha sahara mujhko,
Dobi kashti leke doba hai kinara mujhko,
Omr bhar doobta jaonga..mai gham ke.. is samandar mai,
Samandar se bhi ziyada mere gham ki howi gehrai hai

Sookh ker rehgai mere chaman ki daaliyan saari,
Rooth gaye rang morjhagai khilti howi kaliya sari,
Saray parindo ne bhi badal diya ashiyan apna,
Meri mohabbat ke chaman mai kuch aisi khiza aayi hai

Teri bas ek jhalak ke liye tarasta ho mai,
Har gali teri talash mai bhatakta ho mai,
Teri yaadon ne apna qaidi banaliya hai mujhe,
Deakh phir sham teri yaadon ki zanjeer le ayi hai

Zindagi bhar mai tujhko bhula nahi sakta,
Tera pyar mere dil se ja nahi sakta,
Meri mohabbat ko tune kabhi samjha hi nahi,
Meri mohabbat mai na kami ayi thi aur na aayi hai

Basgai hai tu meri ankhon mai ansowo ki tarha,
Zeher bhi lagta hai meetha teri baaton ki tarha,
Uthrahay hai mere armano ke janazay,
Tere bin har khushi kafan mai lipti howi nazar ayi hai

Mujhko tere honto ki tabassom ki qasam,
Moat bhi mujhko aker bhi nahi aayi hai

Hadood-e –Zabt-e wafa se guzarnay wala tha.
