Position: J2EE Technical Lead
Location:Pleasanton, CA
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities include:
•Having responsibility for the quality of the code written by offshore team by ensuring proper design reviews, code reviews, unit testing and integration testing. Able to work well with geographically diverse teams.
•Defining User Stories with appropriate details. Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. Defining project scope, deliverables, schedules, and tasks list. Conducting project kickoff and team meetings
•Conducting Brainstorming Sessions and other project meeting facilitation. Estimating duration and resource requirements.
•Facilitating setting of technical, functional and business requirements.
•Developing detailed project plans including resource plans. Tracking/managing projects from initiation to successful completion
•Identifying and escalating issues. Communicating project status. Resolving project issues, risks, and changes. Leading projects to overall success.
•Designs and maintain technical and project documentation.
The successful candidate will:
•Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with little supervision. Self motivated and able to take the initiative to resolve technical issues.
•Provide technical leadership of onsite and offshore teams and implement system WMB based solutions that are consistent with strategic business and technical objectives.
•Coordinate onsite and offshore team, tasks, deliverables and milestones.
•Responsible for analyzing both business and technical user stories to create high level and detailed design documents. Able to apply emerging technologies to the software development process.
•Specific focus on J2EE framework based web services development using Java/JEE, WMB, web services, JMS, MQ, Spring, Hibernate, Web/Application servers technologies.
•Understanding of UML and Rational Unified Process.
Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field.
•10 + years experience in distributed systems development using Java/JEE.
•7 + years technical lead experience in core Java & JEE technologies with web services
•5 + years experience in leading offshore teams.
•Must be experienced in Agile Scrum based development
•Expert in object oriented analysis, SOA, design, development, implementation and maintenance.
•Strong background in integrating different technologies, distributed component development and knowledge of industry standard frameworks.
•This position requires advanced skills in technologies such as J2EE framework based web services development using Java/JEE, WMB, web services, JMS, MQ, Spring, Hibernate, Web/Application servers technologies.
•Candidate should have excellent communication and written skills.
•Must be a good team player and should be able to collaborate with multiple teams in diverse locations during project execution

J2EE Design Lead
Pleasanton, CA 6 Months
Essential Functions:
* Conducts analysis regarding program/application/system and provides technical design to the development teams.
* Mentors 4-5 developers and provides hands-on help with development as required Serves as team advisor regarding technical design, approach, and strategy.
* Helps with technical design using UML, and helps create logical/physical solution design Acts as the team's contact person for technical decisions.
* Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity and innovation, using independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
* Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories.
* Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
* Provides on-going coaching, enabling team members to develop and improve skills and capabilities that support the effectiveness of the department/function.
* Provides performance input and recommendations to management for development/training plans and/or performance reviews.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
* minimum of 6 years of experience in development of new programs/applications or maintaining and/or supporting existing programs/systems.
* Advanced knowledge (broad expertise or unique knowledge) of policies, practices and systems;
* deep technical expertise in SOA/Java/JEE and broader understanding of all technologies.
* Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
* Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience with SOA and Java/JEE application development/deployments Prior experience with development using IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ,
* Other SOI components Experience in web service development/deployment using application frameworks including Spring Application framework,
* Other predominant Java application frameworks and design patterns Experience with database development Prior experience with Agile development methodologies, and SDLC
* Master's degree or equivalent experience.
* Technical certifications preferred and/or required, where applicable.
