English Translation of Al-Quran

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]

Ayat 50. They (the sorcerers) said to Firaun: "No harm! (even if you cut off our hands and feet and crucify all of us) "Surely, to our Lord (Allah) we are to return; Ayat 51. "Verily! We really hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers [in Mûsa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has brought from Allah]." [Tafseer].

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "During the Miraj (the Night of Ascension), I saw a group of people who were scratching their chests and faces with their copper nails. I asked, `Who are these people, O Jibril?' Jibril replied: `These are the people who ate flesh of others (by backbiting) and trampled people's honour.''

[Abu Dawud Hadith # 4878].

[Muslim Book 06, Chapter 36, Hadith # 2614].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 50."(the sorcerers) said to Firaun: "No harm! (even if you cut off our hands and feet and crucify all of us)". "These are the people who ate flesh of others'' is a metaphor for backbiting. "To trample people's honour'' is akin to harming their goodwill and honour. The punishment for these things mentioned in Hadith makes their seriousness obvious.

Literally, albeit archaically, friends ("kith") and family ("kin").
