This is our direct-client opening for 2 Front-End Web & Mobile Developers located in Austin, TX. These are 3-6+ month contract positions and our client is looking to hire ASAP. Candidates can be from anywhere in the country as long as they can relocate on their own expense to Austin, TX.

The Senior Front-End Web and Mobile Developer will be part of the product development team and will be responsible for developing compelling web and hybrid mobile applications for internal business owners, partner businesses, and customers. This developer will collaborate with other members of the product development team, quality assurance, and creative design to build industry leading web applications.

Responsibilities:

Creating and maintaining our customer facing, partner facing, and internal web and hybrid mobile applications

Based on high-level business requirements, create dynamic websites and hybrid apps from design concept to implementation

Complete CSS styling and layout of pages produced by development team while maintaining browser compatibility

Develop JavaScript to interact with industry standard libraries for rich client interactions on the desktop, mobile web and mobile hybrid apps

Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and input for the maintenance and enhancement of existing websites and development of new products and features

Work with QA and Development teams to ensure compatibility and quality of websites

Be proactive in a small, fast-paced team to work towards problem solutions while adapting to existing processes, practices, and tools

Skills/Education/Experience:

Bachelor Degree or equivalent years of experience in computer sciences

5+ years of web development experience in a fast-paced environment

Strong skills in web design, including working knowledge of the following: HTML5, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, Automated Testing, bug tracking, and source control tools

Bonus Skills: Large front end frameworks (AngularJS, Ember), node.js, Apache Cordova

Experience with mobile (iOS and Android), preferably hybrid applications

Web user interface design skills and usability analysis

Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment

Position Overview

A Lead Android Developer should be able to technically design and conceptualize custom Android applications. The candidate should be able provide valuable inputs during the discovery phase and establish best practices specifically required for making applications for multiple Android platforms and devices. The candidate should be able to develop an Android application from the conception through submittal to the Android marketplace.

Tech Leads are expected to work independently and deliver high quality code in a timely manner across a variety of project engagements. They are expected to guide junior developers. They are also responsible for code reviews and standards and best practices enforcement. Tech Leads are expected to participate in multiple phases of projects, including requirements gathering, software design, development and testing. Candidates must be proficient with Java and object-oriented programming, including software design and design patterns.

Candidates must be proficient with standard JAVA development tools, including ADT plugin, JUnit, and popular IDE's such as Eclipse. Proficiency with open source frameworks or third party libraries is specifically required for Android applications. Candidates must have IT consulting experience and be familiar with a team approach to execution. Candidates must possess effective written and verbal communication skills and be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

Implement best practices for developing Android applications that target multiple devices and platform versions

Design, develop and test applications from the ground up

Work with outside data sources and API's

Develop/Deploy Android OS 2.3+ based applications in Java language

Troubleshoot, optimize and tune for performance

Innovate and brainstorm new features

Work closely with a Project Manager and a Mobile Application Designer to execute solutions

Required Experience/Skills

1+ years experience in Application development on Android and 5+ years in Java/C++ is a must

Must have 3+ years experience in developing on mobile platforms

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education/experience

Should be self-driven and operate independently with little guidance

Strong OO design and development experience

Experience with Android SDK

Ability to work with data from outside API's

Ability to understand and parse XML, JSON and serialized data

Understanding of Multi-threaded interface design

Familiarity with open source microframeworks (Caliper, dynadroid, etc)

Should have at least three to four applications in Android Marketplace covering major categories, including games
