Job Title       :   .Net Applications Developer
Location       :   Austin,TX ( Local Consultants Preferred)
Duration      :   24 Months
Rate               :    $50/HR

 

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Web-Based Applications Developer to develop a Web-based mapping application using

ASP.net and Javascript.  Microsoft Bing Maps, Google Maps, ESRI API's and other open source tools, as well as agile software development methods will be used to work on the next phase of  a state-of-the-art online mapping system that supports spatial queries and the display of geographical data.  You will work with a core team of other developers, web designers, database administrators under the guidance of the Information Services Team Leader to develop and execute the tasks below as required.
 
Tasks include:
Analysis of project needs, technical architecture, and software development, coding and revision
Coordinating and developing with other team members  (technical and non-technical)
Maintaining software development and application infrastructure (ie, automated builds, revision control, automated test clients, etc)
Developing user documentation and online help systems for applications
Providing technical assistance to staff and customers as required
Training others in the use of internal applications
Maintaining and documenting existing code.
Weekly reporting on work progress, updating of internal issue tracking and wiki-based knowledge management systems
 
Other tasks include: developing requirements for future applications; working with existing staff and management to define future paths in web-based mapping and applications; and presenting and demonstrating applications in a forum setting and teaching workshops relating to web services and programming methods, etc.
 
Required Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
Years   Skills/Experience
7          .Net C# ASP.NET and web-based programming
5          Javascript programming
5          AJAX programming with asp.net and javascript technologies
5          Enterprise Database Development
3          Web-based mapping using the Bing Maps API's
 
Preferred (Optional):
Years   Skills/Experience
2          Experience using Google Maps API
3          Experience using and implementing EXTJS/Sencha tools
2          Knowledge and experience with GIS web services, JSON, REST, XML, XSLT, HTML5
2          Experience using Tortoise SVN Source Control, MS VSS Source Control, and Subversion
