Sr. Technical Writer - Direct Client Requirement

 

Location: Naperville, IL

Duration: 6-12 Months

 

Engagement Type: Contract

 

**In-person Interview required**

             

Short Description:

Requesting Sr Tech. Writer contractors to increase the qty of docs delivered at TR for each 7100 Tech. Doc. release, allow for the creation of a new set of OTN focused 7100 Tech. Doc. manuals, and support the transition from FrameMaker to Arbortext.

 

The current assumption is that the Senior Technical Writers will be needed through end of year 2011.

 

The Senior Technical Writer's job description is as follows:

Research, write, and verify customer documentation for Optical Transport products. Interact with Marketing, Engineering and Customer Service to obtain technical input. Work hands on with Transport products to validate documentation accuracy. Meet required deadlines for documentation deliverables.

 

Minimum of 6 years experience writing user documentation (prefer at least 2 year in Telecommunication Industry). Management Systems and TL1 experience highly desirable.

Frame Maker knowledge required. Arbortext XML experience a plus.

 

Candidate needs to have excellent written communication skills, ability to convey system applications/complex ideas at a basic user level, ability to work independently and as part of a team, a technical aptitude, and have a positive attitude toward learning new things.
