This is my direct-client opening for a Financial Business Analyst located in New York City, NY. This is a 6+ months contract.

 

Summary of assignment:

 

Facilitate technology upgrade of our clients Middle/Back office systems by creating a set of business and functional requirements that must be met in order to retire BGCs legacy middle office system.

 

More specifically:

 

• Analyze and document existing post-trade business process involving brokers, operations and back office participants. Understand how existing legacy middle office system (built in-house) supports these processes.
• Understand the target systems (built in-house) that will be supporting the business going forward.
• Map existing business process onto the target systems capabilities and conduct the gap analysis.
• Create a set of business and functional requirements that the target systems must satisfy in order for the legacy system to be retired.
• Analyze the static data used by the current system and prepare them for setting them up in the target system.
• Prepare test cases for User Acceptance Testing of the target system.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activity among the stakeholders and get their sign off.
• Provide training for the new users of the target system.

In order to achieve the above, active interaction with the brokers, operations and back office staff is required. The candidate should have familiarity with the fixed income billing and settlements processes and middle and back office business practices in the broking environment, be self-motivated and be able to function independently with minimal supervision.
