Worker shall perform highly complex System Administrative support
functions within a Data Warehouse environment. Work involves
providing System administration support activities with software
maintenance implementations, (Patching and Stack upgrades), new
production implementations, DBA and Software Development data
implementations, security enhancements and support, and performance
assessment and support functions.
Worker reviews information systems requirements to provide designs,
architecture, and implementation and maintenance plans for the Data
Warehouse environment. The will perform project management functions
with assigned activities. Worker(s) will provide day-to-day
operational support.
Worker(s) will need to communicate both verbally and in writing with
various project stakeholders, management, other relevant parties
within the agency, the project status and risks as well as any
outstanding issues and recommendations for resolving those issues
which could not be resolved at the project team level.
Works under supervision of the Manager of Infrastructure Services and
Technical SME's with latitude for the use of initiative and
independent judgment.
• Actively participate in weekly management review sessions.
• Work closely with technical lead, PM, developers and subject matter
experts.
• Follow the standard CPA guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate effectively and correctly in writing and verbally on a
variety of business matters as required.
• Write detailed technical specifications
• Interpret program operating codes
• Document coding, configurations, and installation procedures
• Communicate effectively and correctly in writing and verbally on a
variety of business matters as required
• Performs other duties as assigned
Terms and Conditions:
If selected, the vendor shall be required to sign and adhere to the
CPA's Additional T&Cs. The contractor shall be required to sign
several security documents.
II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
5 Linux System Administration
3 Working knowledge of SLES Linux Operating Systems
4 Ability to interact and communicate well with functional and
technical team leads
4 Working knowledge of software development methodologies, testing,
design and implementations
4 Strong planning skills with proven track record of System
Administration and problem resolution
2 Knowledge of data warehouse environments
2 Experience supporting DB2 LUW in an IBM Data Warehouse Environment.
Strong Project and time management skills.
Strong Expert with the Microsoft Office products, including MSWord,
Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferences:
Years Skills/Experience
5 Gathering requirements for System Administration environments
3 Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).
3 Experience working with enterprise software solutions
3 A proven ability to work effectively across multiple groups and
functional areas (including working w/subject-matter-experts,
leveraging resources), where testing / test reporting is concerned.
3 Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).
3 Good teamwork skills, ability to collaborate with other technical
staff on the project.
2+ Strong interpersonal skill and the ability to collaborate
effectively on diverse teams (e.g., portfolio/project managers, domain
experts, users, and software engineering team) to design and deploy
business information systems across the enterprise.
2 Establishing/documenting and communicating standards, best
practices, fixes, and providing direction/recommendations
2 Understanding of computer related tools, methods, platforms and
operating systems.
2 Security Support within a Linux environment
