KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Test Automation Engineer will lead the effort to build new test frameworks, tools and or extend existing frameworks. The tool/s will accommodate both functional and load testing. These frameworks will allow us to perform end-to-end testing in multi-component environments. The engineer must support Dev/QA with issues using the tool and will implement automation test scripts. Integrating the framework with our test management tool (Quality Center) is preferred.

The Senior Test Automation Engineer must be able to take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction of the automation effort, and its schedule and prioritization. The engineer will work with management, developers, and quality assurance personnel, to meet these goals.

Additionally the Test Automation Engineer will be involved in ensuring that the test automation suite can be run against various environments (System, Functional, Dev). Running in various environments will ensure that the code drops to quality assurance are of the highest quality.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of overall development and test experience

• 5+ years experience as a Software Developer

• 3+ years C/C++ programming experience on Linux or Unix operating systems

• 2+ years JAVA programming experience

• Experience with Grinder, QTP, RTP, IXIA or other Test Automation tools is a plus

• Software architecture background (able to design highly reusable, extensible software systems)

• Working knowledge of industry scripting languages -- prefer (Python/Jython, Groovy, Ruby)

• Working knowledge of Unix Shell scripts written in (BASH, C Shell, Korn Shell)

• CVS experience (Subversion is a bonus)

• Linux (Red Hat AS) and Apache, Tomcat experience as a user and sysadmin

• Networking and troubleshooting skills highly desirable

• Experience with "make" and "ant"

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Thorough attention to detail

• Strong team player and a self-starter

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

• MS/BS degree in Computer Science or related field
