Title:   Windows Server System Administrator

Location: Jacksonville FL

Duration: 12 Months

 

Responsibilities:

Position is for an experienced Windows Server System Administrator. 

Provide installation and support for operating systems, and third party vendor software.

Monitor and manage system performance..

Function as third-tier support for systems software, with escalation to vendor for hardware and software issue resolution.

Ensure successful recovery of operating systems environment in the event of a disaster.

Perform systems analysis and tuning to insure optimal operating systems response for multi-user, database server, and web server environments.

Provide technology assessments in support of automation and technology migration initiatives.

Recommend improvements, manage/maintain production and non-production systems to ensure infrastructure performs at maximum efficiency.

 Implement/maintain Corporate Data Security guidelines.

Provide on-call technical support via pager as required.

 

Required:

Proficiency required in installation and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2000, 2003, and 2008. 

Strong experience with TCP/IP support for Windows servers, as well as Active Directory. 

Proficiency required in hardware support and troubleshooting of Dell and HP servers. 

Support experience with VMware ESX is a plus.

Education & Professional Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline And Four years relevant experience Or Master's Degree in related technical discipline And Minimum two years relevant experience Or Minimum eight years relevant experience without college degree.

 

Candidate Profile:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Clear understanding of project's role in meeting departmental objectives. Advanced business knowledge and above average project management skills. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision on a complex project. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Incumbents at this level must be fully familiar with all aspects of information technologies including: hardware, software, operating systems, network protocols, etc
