Job title: SQL SERVER DBA
Duration: 6 month contract
Location: Scottsdale AZ
Operational DBA assignment to support existing applications. Base responsibilities will include:
- promoting releases
- evaluating performance
- providing assistance to application teams
- upgrading to SQL Server 2008
- new database installs
- support new application installs
- complete and coordinate changes required by audits
Required skills:
Must be familiar with SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008.
Experience in handling multiple projects/activities at one time
Be able to meet aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision.
Minimum 5 years SQL Server database administration experience.
Windows administration knowledge.
Must have a combination of technical and project lead skills.
Will coordinate activities of disparate organizations including application teams, infrastructure teams, and business organizations.
Experience handling large databases (200 GB to terabyte range).
Must be detail oriented and be willing to keep in-depth documentation (including status on work, instructions peculiar to a system, deviations from standards)
Must be able to communicate clearly via email, phone and in person. (Many contacts are remote.)
