Job Title    :    Infrastructure Project Manager
Location    :    Washington, DC
Duration    :    6+month contract TO HIRE
Rate           :    $50/ Hr
EAD/GC/US Citizen Only............. (This will require a F2F interview)
 
The IT Project Manager is responsible for
• Delivering business change
• Assuming personal ownership and full accountability to drive through successful project delivery
• Managing plans and budget to deliver business solutions to timescale and cost targets
 
Summary of Duties includes:
Working as a part of the IT team and closely with system engineering, business analysis, development, testing, QA and the business to manage the delivery of a number of infrastructure projects that support the global system.
 
Qualifications: Essential
- Full accountability and active management over the full project life cycle
- Project Management experience of 5+ years
- Good working knowledge of structured technology lifecycle practices
- Proven track record in timely delivery of systems and business benefit
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Experience with system design, administration, and implementation.
- Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects
- Ability to manage projects on a global scale
 
Desirable.
- Experience with Microsoft, Sun, Oracle, Weblogic, EMC, Cisco, Juniper, etc...
- Financial sector experience
 
3 Key Accountabilities
Leadership
- To ensure delivery through personal drive and ownership
- To lead combined project teams
- To drive and develop the use of project management standards within the project framework being adopted
- To set project team member objectives and support
- To provide a high level of communication with project team and executives
 
Project Delivery
- Single point of accountability for delivery.
- Active project management and personal ownership over the full project life cycle
- Drive continual improvement of project delivery record
- Monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle and act in a timely manner to ensure that critical paths are maintained without impact to cost or timeframe
- Manage project budget ensuring adherence to cost control processes
- Provide business with realistic solutions through scoping and planning of projects
- Reinforce importance of and implement quality standards within the project life cycle
- Influence the business to understand how critical test requirements are at key stages within the project cycle
 
Stakeholder Management
- Develop clear communication plan and set up communication channels with key stakeholders and sponsors.
- Provide regular reporting and updates ensuring stakeholder expectation is set and managed.
- Work closely with relevant business areas to reinforce understanding of implementation requirements, i.e. target platform, effect on business processes etc.
