AIX Support person.Local Candidates preferred! Williamsville, NY (Buffalo)Contract assignment for 6 months with a probable extension of an additional 6 months or more. Qualifying phone screen and in person interview with the hiring manager will be required. This is an on-site opportunity, no remote capabilities.Responsibilities:• Assist with day to day administration, operations and support of AIX and Unix for unlocking users, file sharing, file system cleanups, etc.• AIX Support will share some of the day-to-day responsibilities of the department manager. There is currently a team of 3 people on the UNIX team.Requirements:Ability to work independent or as part of a teamExperience with one of the following OS: AIX (preferably), or HP-UX, or SolarisPerform day-to-day operations:• File system cleanup• File system requests• User management• System monitoring/maintaining (error logs)• Performance checks• Backup checks (knowledge of TSM a plus) Identify and resolve technical issues Scripting a plus• Ability to work independent or as part of a team
