I'm attaching the job description for your review. Here is the job description. They actually used it for a developer they hired previously, but he was more of a front to back application developer. For these roles the emphasis is on SQL Development. Their title for this position is Database Developer. They have a lot of data that resides in their interfaces (SSIS) therefore experience with SSIS is critical. They mention some older technology like VB6 because their original system was written in it; therefore anyone who has had prior experience with it would be helpful but not a deal breaker. They are in the process of upgrading to C#/.Net and all new development will be that platform. Again, having SQL Server(stored procedures, triggers, queries, etc) 2005/2008 and the Microsoft suite: SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS is the focus.
The office is located in Portsmouth, NH
Ideally, they prefer local candidates - close enough to go for an in-person interview, but they are completely willing to hire off the phone for the "right" candidate. I did happen to place two local candidates,

| Responsibilities: o Participate in a small, experienced, energetic team on a rapid, agile development schedule o Responsible for leading the development of new applications to improve the effectiveness and productivity of the Retail Services Group o Responsible for maintaining and resolving errors in existing applications. o Assist/lead/mentor entry-level programmers with assignments. o Train entry level developers. o Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level o Other responsibilities as assigned |
| Key Work Experiences/Education: o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related area is required with 5 years of experience. o Microsoft certifications are a plus. |
| Technical/Functional Competencies: Analyzing Information, Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Testing, Teamwork, General Programming Skills, Software Development Fundamentals, Software Development Process, Software Requirements, Software Architecture, Coaching o Four (+) years experience as a Programmer Analyst/Software Engineer. o Four (+) years experience with ASP.NET/VB.NET/C# as it pertains to database support o Four (+) years working with SQL Server (2005/2008 preferred). o Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundation's such as memory management and algorithm performance. o NET / VB.NET / SQL Server 2005/SQL Server 2008 / WCF Web Services / WCF Data Services Knowledge/Experience with Microsoft Suite: SSIS, SSAS,SSRS o Knowledge of System Architecture and Design. o Knowledge of software development best practices. o Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures(SOA). o Ability to design and optimize SQL Server stored procedures. o Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment. o Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary. o Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills o Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices while leading and mentoring a team of developers.
