SUMMARY
Acts as the QA resource on product assignments and ensures timely delivery on QA commitments in a fast paced product development center. Reviews functional requirements and technical design documentation and creates test plans, test scenarios and test cases. Works with the Senior QA Associate to ensure QA goals are met on the product.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrated experience on black box, integration, system and regression testing. Works with the Senior QA Associate, project management and development team to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology. Works effectively with development team, product analyst, product management and other clients to execute the testing strategy across multiple products and releases
Performs the following Software testing and Quality Assurance activities.
Responsible for executing established QA methodologies, processes and test strategies that guide Agile software testing and contribute to overall quality of the client facing applications
Design and document functional, integration, exploratory and regression test suites
Create test scenarios and test cases
Execute manual tests for product releases
Report defects and problems in a defect tracking tool
Ensure proper version control of all test objects developed and test environments used
Effectively communicate testing activities and status
Prepare status reports for IT management
Participates in sizing user stories and creating acceptance criteria
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least 3 or more years experience in a software development environment.
Recognized industry certification in software testing skills or testing tools is desirable.
Minimum of 3 years of software quality assurance experience
Good analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Software Quality Assurance metrics.
Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Agile or other Rapid application development methodologies.
Experience working in a client facing product environment is desired.
Understanding and knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods used in software development.
Excellent problem solving and interpersonal communication skills
Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, iterative) and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools.
Must be detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
