The Business Objects Lead Consultant/Developer is responsible and accountable for all Business Objects Development deliverables provided by the Enterprise reporting team. This includes architecture, design and implementation and support of solutions using the Business Objects Enterprise Server, Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence and Xcelsius platforms. Also included is managing, securing, scheduling and publishing Enterprise Server Content.
Acts as primary lead resource and accountable for all Business Objects team deliverables. Consult directly with clients and systems analysts to define Business Intelligence /Reporting requirements for all subject areas. Initiates, architects, designs and leads universe and report development, enhancements, and production. Also responsible for security, scheduling, publishing, meta data management and performance tuning of Web Intelligence, Xcelsius Dashboards, and Crystal Reports.
This position requires demonstrated technical, architectural and leadership skills combined with in-depth analytical and system management skills and specific expertise in Business Objects implementation. The incumbent will possess a thorough understanding of the use of business intelligence concepts and tools in aid of presentation and analysis of data.
Responsibilities:
• Provides technical leadership on BO Universe/WebI
• Creates and maintains BO Universe(s)
• Work with cross functional Business and IT teams of business analysts, data modelers, solution architects, dba's and project managers during all SDLC phases
• Translates functional requirements into technical specifications
• Performs code walkthroughs and formal reviews
• Contributes and reviews technical SDLC documentation
• Uses the BO platform to develop Universe(s), Webi, and Crystal Reports
• Develops BO designs and supporting documentation
• Metadata Management using BO SDK
• Ensures adherence to locally defined standards for all developed components
• Provide production support on defects or change requests
• Participates in design and development reviews
• Ensures performance metrics are met and tracked
• Writes and maintains unit tests
• Ability to thrive in a complex environment and manage competing priorities
Required:
• 7+ Years of Universe Development
• Strong understanding of Dimensional & Relational Data models. Ability to create the BO Universe(s) by connecting to custom applications & Data marts.
• At-least 3 years of experience in developing Universe(s) on SAP Business Objects Enterprise 3.1 environment.
• Experience with IDT and SAP BOBJ 4.0 is plus.
• Bachelors Degree required in a technical discipline, with further formal higher education degree and certifications preferred in related technology disciplines.
• Row-level security concept and implementation experience is "Must have"
• Proficient in SAP Business Objects Enterprise System
• Practical knowledge handling of Fan traps, chasm traps, row level security
• 5+ Years of WebI, Business Objects Enterprise Server
• 7+ years of Oracle PL/SQL Experience
• Knowledge of Xcelsius is a plus
• Experience creating Cubes is a plus
