Position: Data Analyst
Location: Bloomington, IL
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
Partner with the Application Lead, Development Lead, and System Designer in application and transaction design
Partners with the Data Architect to realize the overall data architecture vision
Responsible for ensuring data deliverables are created for the project (conceptual model, logical model, physical model, data flow diagram, data topology, data mapping, detailed data access design, etc)
Ensure transaction reviews are done on all new and changed components and involve the appropriate parties
Consults on data access design
Defines data placement strategy for databases while keeping in line with the overall data placement vision
Involved in problem resolution of data access problems
Communication of optional technologies and best practices to developers
Ensures all SQL go through reviews and that the correct procedures are in place and team members understand their responsibility as reviewers
Ensuring team members have access to training to increase knowledge and understanding in the data space
Communicate/Escalate issues occurring in the project to the Data Architect/Data Architect Lead
Consults with the data movement team on data movement design strategies
Consults with DBAs on physical database design
Consults with Business Architects and data modelers on data design
Translates requirements into data elements and transaction design solutions
Experiences:
5+ Years in 1 or more data management roles (DBA, Data Designer, or Data Access Developer)
Experience in architecting a solution that integrates multiple systems and multiple platforms from a data perspective
Experience in leading and developing an overall data architecture design within the constraints of budget, business requirements, and approved enterprise technology
Understanding of data modeling and designing for a high volume transactional system as well as designing for performance
Experience in data access transaction design
Experience in performance tuning systems from a data perspective
oDBMS performance tuning
oSQL performance tuning
oTransaction performance tuning
Experience with multiple data access design solutions and technologies
Ability to utilize the appropriate data access design solution based on the situation
