We are looking for a "Java Developer" for Data Management

 

Location: Andover, MA

Duration: 2+ years

Start: ASAP

 

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of prior hands-on experience developing software applications using Java technologies, with particular emphasis in the following areas:

• Languages & Frameworks: Java 7, JAX-RS, Jersey, XML, JSON, JAXB, Groovy, Spring Data, Advanced Rest Client, Apache Jmeter
• Appserver:  Tomcat
• IDE: Eclipse
• Build System : Maven or Gradle
• Version control

 

• Experience building multi-tier, scalable, robust server-side applications
• Experience with decoding, transformation, and manipulation of text-based data formats
• Experience working with storage and processing systems for quickly-changing, geographically-oriented data.
• Ability to understand complex data models, and to translate data between different data models
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or shell related to data manipulation and automation
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Good understanding of Web Services protocols (REST) and architectures
• Experience with providing data services on a large scale
• Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast paced environment
• Team player that takes ownership of tasks.
• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field

 

Highly Desired:

• Experience with NoSQL data stores, such as Riak/Redis/Hadoop/MongoDB

Job Title: Teradata Implementation Specialist / DBA

Job Location: Somerset, NJ

Duration: 6+ Months

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement a variety of data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance code
• Resolve complex database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
• Consult with application development teams on database administration considerations
• Be responsible for space management, back-up, monitoring, and maintaining ongoing performance of Teradata/Netezza Database
• Develop updates or modifications according to business needs
• Monitor and review the work of other database administrators to ensure correct practices and procedures
• Design technical solutions and prepare implementation methods to be performed by other DBA Team members
• Provide support and back-up for management
• Assist with work plan development and work distributions for team members
• Provide incident and problem management support, including 24x7 pager support responsibilities

 Skills and Experience Required:

• 7-10 years Teradata
• 7-10 years Big Data and Teradata hand on implementations (including installation and setup)
• 7-10 years Teradata DBA experience
