SUMMARY
Oracle BI Publisher is a core component of the Global Freight Forwarding application at UTi Worldwide. As a member of UTi's Data Architecture & Reporting (DAR) team, the Oracle BI Publisher developer will be responsible for developing Freight Forwarding forms / documents. This individual will work closely with Business and Data Analysts, Data Architects, Freight Forwarding development team, and Report Developers.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Perform extensive data analysis and develop data mapping and functional solution design documents
Ø Works with business analysts / end users to capture document / forms requirements and translating them to technical design
Ø Develop and support pixel perfect Freight Forwarding document / forms using Oracle BI Publisher with XML supersets, services and database as data sources
Ø Develop and support forms generated using legal pre-printed forms through Oracle BI Publisher
Ø Work as an Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher specialist in Data Architecture and Reporting team
Ø Design Oracle BI Publisher Data Models, Data sets and Templates / sub templates which will be used by business in daily basis.
Ø Analyze Freight Forwarding data, XML supersets to develop XML, XSLT, SQL coding to create Client Facing Documents through OBIP.
Ø Design complex RTF, PDF, Adobe Flex and Excel templates for Oracle BI Publisher
Ø Develop BI Publisher real time reports using SQL server 2008 as a data source
Ø Design, develop, test and prepare detailed specification of new requirements
Ø Supporting all technical issues related to OBIP in Integration, Production environments.
Ø Testing, debugging and Performance Tuning applications prior to user acceptance testing (UAT).
Ø Work with the development team on XML supersets optimization for a flexible and scalable architecture to generate document / forms
Ø Provide user training including creation of training documentation.
Ø Other responsibilities as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Ø Good knowledge and experience in understanding of logical and physical data models
Ø Overall 7-8 years of IT experience
Ø 3-5 years of extensive hands-on experience with all aspects of Oracle BI Publisher / Oracle XML Publisher
Ø Strong experience with XML, XSLT, SQL and Stored Procedures
Ø Working knowledge of MS SQL Server data structures preferred
Ø Experience with implementation of multi-lingual translation of form / documents
Ø Strong communication and presentation skills
Ø Demonstrated project management skills
Ø Must be detail and process oriented
Ø Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing environment, and multi-task
Ø Possess a collaborative working style and the ability to work independently in a team environment
PREFERRED SKILLS
Ø Previous Supply Chain or Logistics industry experience
Ø Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle WebLogic administration skills
Ø Experience with Cognos
Ø Working with and coordinating with a global extended support team
Ø Ability to work with cross cultural, diverse, and geographically distributed teams
