Summary: As part of the Comcast Video Solutions team, as a member of the Quality Assurance team the candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, implementation and execution of test solutions related to features developed for our products. As a senior member of the team, the candidate is also responsible for contributing to the overall design and implementation of the test architecture and mentoring staff and team members in best practices.
The individual must be a self-starter with attention to detail, open to exploring new technologies and alternate approaches to testing as they become available, able to collaborate with testing teams across Comcast divisions, and comfortable in a fast paced unique development environment. Strong troubleshooting, mentoring, and coordination skills are a must. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle and methodology.
Responsibility:
· Participate in the planning process for projects including but not limited to test strategy, automation approach, developing and estimating user stories, dependency planning, progress tracking, and metrics reporting
· Develop a formal test plan for projects and deliver supporting test scripts in defined methodology
· Interact with development and test leads to identify APIs and test harnesses needed in the application under test early in the lifecycle
· Contribute to the development of overall QA test philosophies and methodologies with an emphasis to improve overall effectiveness.
· Review and verify requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.
· Participate in design, code and functional product reviews to facilitate white-box test design.
· Guide and mentor junior level engineers
· Ensure quality of delivered scripts through peer review process
· Design, create, and implement automated test suites at the feature or component level using Quality Center's BPT or other tools/languages as needed

Technical Skills:
· Practical experience with one or more testing tools.
· Expertise in TestNG, Junit, Java, Python, Perl, VBScript, or existing proprietary script language
· Practical understanding of test automation principles
· Strong knowledge of testing process and methodologies
· Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms
· Practical knowledge of one or more bug tracking applications.
· 1-3 years' experience creating and/or executing automated tests and test suites
Desired Skills and Experience:
· Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
· Makes clear and concise oral presentations for internal audiences
· Ability to work independently under general supervision
· Applies judgment effectively when solving problems
· Experience with agile development methodologies.
· Fosters open communication between team members
· Experience with set top box technology for digital TV.
· Understanding of Web Services, SOAP, SNMP
· Must interface successfully with engineers and across functional departments
· Knowledge of HPQC helpful, but not required.
Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management.
Experience: Five to seven years quality assurance and development experience based on management discretion.
