Phone Screen and Face to Face interview

We are assisting our client located in Palo Alto, CA with their search for a build and release engineer. They are looking for a candidate who can oversee their current build and release process and make process changes as needed. We are looking for an energetic problem solver with CS engineering experience / education, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong work ethic.

The candidate must possess the debugging expertise to tackle a variety of technical problems, as well as the communication skills to work effectively with colleagues with varying technical backgrounds. Experience in a Unix and Windows environment is required.

Skills:

Build and release/SCM
Unix and Windows environment
Apache/Weblogic configuration and setup
Perl scripting skills

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work with Source code management applications to maintain source code and build new software releases

• Ability to deploy new code builds in a Windows and Unix environment and to install and configure middleware solutions, including WebLogic, etc

• Ability to work effectively with a global team (Developers located in California and India)

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills

• Excellent coordination, planning, and communication skills

Skills Required:

• 6+ years experience working in a build and release capacity

• Ensure the integrity of source code using SCM applications (SVN, Clearcase, etc…)

• Create and update build documentation

• Create automated scripts using Perl and Shell

• Experience configuring Apache web server or Weblogic 9.0 or higher

• Manage an automated Build and Test system

o Creating test plans/test cases to ensure code is bug free before moving to production

• Experience working in a Windows and Unix environment

• Drive the build process for MTPs (Move to Production)

• Work with support team to identify any problems that may be encountered during a build or after a release goes into Production

WORK EXPERIENCE:

· Experience in: creating and maintaining end to end data architectures logical, access, and physical, data modeling normalized and dimensional data modeling techniques data analysis and mapping the creation and usage of metadata

· Working knowledge of modeling tools (e.g., Computer Associates (CA) AllFusion: ERWIN Model Manager, IBM Rational Suite, Rational (RSA & RDA)

PRIMARY DUTIES:

o Provide data modeling solutions and support while adhering to and promoting standards.

o Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technology assistance.

o Serve as a resource on matters of database design to business and IT staff in all phases of database development.

o Provide guidance to development application areas by applying knowledge of database design.

o Create/maintain the data architecture to increase the robustness, performance, and scalability of systems.

o Contribute to and provide direction for the design and development of the data layer.

o Responsible for the development and maintenance of logical data models and physical database designs applied across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed, and warehouse environments).

o Collaborate in product evaluations and Proof of Concepts.

o Research and document information architecture standards and best practices.

o Work with various customers to understand and translate business use cases and/or requirements into data models, data flow diagrams, and scenario models.

o Ensure that data dictionaries are maintained holistically by partnering with Data Management.

o Participate in data definition and data management reviews.

Crystal Reports Writer

Requirements:

• Extensive experience designing, creating, testing, and implementing complex reports using Crystal Reports (v 10 preferred) and or Business Objects Enterprise reporting tools

• Experience with clinical reporting.

• Experience with patient care-oriented databases and hospital-based financial and administrative database applications preferred.

• Strong database, SQL, ETL and data analysis skills.

• Experience with Oracle PLSQL, Oracle procedures, Oracle BI front end and back end reporting and repository development tools.
