Position: Business Analyst

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Duration: 6 Months

 

 

This individual's primary responsibility must be to analyze business request and create the detailed Business Requirements Document. Also perform quality assurance testing of multiple business underwriting applications. This position will be based out of the Jersey City NJ office but frequent travel to Manhattan NY will be required. Position reports to the Manager – Systems Design & Development.

Your related responsibilities typically include the following:

• Works with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes.
• Formulates logical statements of business requirements, researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design.
• Serve as first line of contact and liaison between business units and technical support teams.
• Develop and execute QA test scripts for assigned applications
• Define, discuss and assist tech team with understanding requirements and impact to existing systems and business processes and procedures.
• Analyze and document business requirements for the development and implementation of business systems solutions.
• Preparation of change control documentation, preparation of related process documentation, and coordination of user acceptance testing.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum 6 years of business analysis experience with at least 2 in the insurance field
• Knowledge of commerical insurance industry and business trends required
• Knowledge and experience using some form of a standardized PROJECT DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE methodology
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Productive working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software products (including MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Must possess time management and organizational skills.
• Applicant should be a self starter
• Applicant should be a quick learner and able to work independently
