Job Description:               Oracle Applications DBA 11i-12i

 

Summary

Role centered on identifying, testing and installing patches related to the Oracle Applications 11.5.1.0.2 environment (9i RDBMS), support the Purge/Archive initiative for this environment, and assess the upgrade to release 12i

 

Modules implemented:

General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Assets Management, Project Accounting, Inventory, Human Resources

 

Work Location:  Boca Raton, FL

Duration:           3 months

 

US Citizen and Green Card preferred

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work Management: 
• Work with business analysts, the developers and internal applications DBAs to identify needed patches in the current Oracle Applications environment and impact of these patches on the technical and functional environments
• Help identify and build/validate needed test scripts to properly test patches applied
• Work with the business analysts, the developers and internal applications DBAs on reviewing out-of the-box purge routines and related test scripts. Execute the data purge routines and validate successful execution
• For additional data needing archiving & purging not covert by the out-of-the-box purge routines, work with the team on mapping these tables & data elements using the Informatica tool, plan the execution and testing of these additional purges and execute.
• Apply the upgrade routines to move the current applications environment from release 11i to 12i and the RDBMS from Oracle 9i to 11g in the development environment working with the team members, and help conduct regression analysis to identify any configuration and/or custom solutions that were not properly migrated.

• Oracle Applications Technology Stack (11i & 12i) on an AIX platform
• Oracle RDBMS 9i & 11g
• JDeveloper
• Oracle Applications customizations & extensions (Applications Library/ Foundation)
• XML Publisher reports
• PL/SQL – SQL Plus
• Shell Scripts
• Java
• Oracle Applications Architecture
• Informatica (Purge and Archive)
• Oracle Applications Financial, Supply Chain & HRMS suites (basic knowledge)
• Good SQL skills (to help with purge routines)
• Strong knowledge in the Oracle Patching & Upgrade routines
• Microsoft Office tools, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Visio

Experience

• Minimum of one upgrade of Oracle Applications to release 12i
• Previous management of an Oracle Applications production environment.
