Description: We have a 6 month contract opportunity or a SQL DBA in the greater Sacramento area.  This opportunity may become permanent for the right candidate.

Required:

-7+ years experience as a SQL DBA

-5+ years experience in a Data Warehousing environment

-Must be strong with Performance tuning

The primary function for the DBA  with Data Warehouse experience is  to provide overall data warehouse/business intelligence design direction that supports the development and implementation of the  Enterprise data warehouse and associated data marts.

This position requires direct and active involvement in ETL design, business intelligence application design, and code level development processes. The data warehouse architect will be required, based on the assignment, to write and test code to support prototypes, code reviews, and performance efforts within the BI&A arena. The data warehouse architect will deliver design documents which can be shared across the business, application development and quality assurance organizations. The individual must be able to effectively communicate with business representatives, in their terminology, using both verbal and written skill sets. This position requires a 'hands on' approach which will utilize both a detailed code level expertise and a broad perspective on application solutions in the BI&A space in order to provide business intelligence functionality to the business.

Description:

•          Develop scalable reporting processes and querying data sources to conduct ad hoc analyses

•          Research complex functional issues using a variety of resources

•          Develop and prepare highly complex reports and provide and/or interpret information and data across divisions and departments

•          Assume responsibility for data integrity among various internal groups and/or between internal and external sources

•          Provide source system analysis

•          Recommendations for data warehouse mart design

•          Architect end-to-end data warehouse & ODS solutions

•          Analyze business requirements & data sources

•          Customize data and optimizing performance

•          Develop database objects and scripts

•          Establish consistent data element definitions

•          Enforce data architecture standards

•          Provide database technical design documentation

Provide 24/7 support

 

Requirements:

 

*5 years hands on experience in implementing data warehouse/data marts & data integration services solutions

*3 years experience data modeling tools like ER Studio, ERvin, etc.

*5 years experience with data warehousing design methodologies using Kimball or Inman approaches

*5 year experience worked on large volume data warehouse

*8 years SQL programming experience

*5 years data analysis and analytical experience

*Bachelors degree

 

Assets:

Experience with data administration across multiple platforms

Expert Knowledge of MS SQL Server

Knowledge of Informatica

Knowledge of Visual Source Safe

Knowledge of Snapshot Mirroring
