Java Application Architect
Location: Chicago, IL
Contract : 9 months
Interview: phone
Rate: $60-65/HR all inclusive
· Must have 10 years of experience in information technology in large corporate or consulting environment, of those years at least 5 years focused on data architecture, data loading, data warehouses, data strategy, reporting, and mainframe technology.
· Must have practical experience and solid understanding of several, if not all, of the following technologies, frameworks, paradigms, and standards: J2EE, UML, OOA / OOD, Agile/RUP, SOA, MDA, EDA, Spring, Drools, Mule, XML, SOAP, WSDL, SSL, Digital Signatures, Internationalization (i18n), Authorization (PEP/PDP/XACML), Business Process Management (BPMN/BPEL), and Performance Testing (LoadRunner)
· Able to break down complex business problems and transform into data solutions.
· Proven ability to produce results and proactively drive strategic initiatives.
· Excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.
· Ability to collaborate with supporting resources across business and/or functional lines.
· Must have the ability to bring large scale/high impact projects to conclusion from a technical and leadership perspective.
· Ability to persuade and influence is key
· Experience creating and presenting executive level presentations
· Must have ability to be tactful yet assertive
· Extensive experience with large environments, multiple operating systems, multiple database management systems, and networked technology
· Previous financial experience a big plus
· Exposure to the following software packages/platforms or equivalent a strong plus: RSA, Actuate, Cognos, Siteminder, BEA WebLogic Application and Portal Servers, Tomcat, Oracle, DB2, Coherence, WebMethods, MQSeries, Mercury QualityCenter.
· Must have experience transforming multiple applications with similar operational and reporting capabilities to use common Operations and Reporting data stores.
· Must understand data warehouse structures and methodologies and has strong Data Warehousing skills.
· Thorough understanding of database architectures on distributed & mainframe platforms, experience with 3rd party reporting products and portal technologies a must
· Experience with DB2, Oracle, stored procedures, service layers, and data transformation tools a plus
· Experience with integration and middleware technologies, as well as Actuate is a plus
· Payments specific:
o Background with payment transactions industry, e.g. Wires, ACH, etc
o Foreign Exchange experience a plus
o Experience with integration and middleware technologies
o Prior experience working with vendor-based solutions
o Previous experience designing AJAX-enabled Web-based UIs
o Background in performance tuning for Web-based UIs
