Job title    :    Sr. Linux Administrator
Location   :   Santa Clara, CA (Only Local to CA)
Duration  :   6 Months

Rate           :   Market

 

Skills/Requirements:
7+ years hands-on experience in IT role supporting R&D team
Solid written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills
Proven ability to gather business requirements and architect innovative technology solutions to meet those needs
Capable of managing multiple projects and integrating new project requirements effectively, good experience with EDI/IC/CAD

background is a plus.
Problem solving: understand the root-cause and define the scope of the problem, identifying strengths and weaknesses of alternatives and select/recommend appropriate solution.

 

Expert knowledge/experience on Unix/Linux (prefer Red Hat, CentOS, SuSe) system administration including configuration,

troubleshooting, and automation in R&D environment
Expert knowledge/experience on computing farm based on Sun GridEngine or LSF from Platform Computing
Expert knowledge/experience on X-based remote access solutions including evaluation, deployment and troubleshooting
Solid scripting skills using sh/csh, perl, tcl and python
Solid experience/knowledge on Information Security at department level
Experience in Windows Server 2003/2008 system administration
Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Experience with storage systems such as netapp filers
Solid knowledge of version control and configuration management tools such as CVS/Subversion/Visual SourceSafe/ClearCase/Cliosoft 
Solid knowledge of vmware/xen based virtualization solutions
Familiar with Windows/Linux integration environment (LDAP/AD, DNS, SAMBA)
Mandarin speaking is a plus
