We are looking for a SQL DBA located in Houston, TX. This is a 3-6+ month contract. The client prefers local candidates to the Texas area. The rate is $40-45/hour.

 

SQL DBA Consulting Duties:

 

Help client resolve SQL backup errors with logs

Verify the SQL maintenance is set up correctly in all DB

Resolve corrupted database error

Verify integrity of all SQL databases, and identify/prioritize core production applications

Monitor and evaluate SQL performance on existing hardware, and identify any bottlenecks

Outline a migration plan of existing SQL infrastructure to new servers based on performance monitoring research

Evaluate if migration involves moving to new SQL version from existing 2005, and what that would require.
