ETL DataStage Developer
Location: Alpharetta, GA 30005
Duration: 3+ Months
Job Description:
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas including finance, human resources, and marketing. Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Trains users in conversion and implementation of system.
Education: 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Experience: 8+ years of experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems
Knowledge/Skills: Specialized knowledge of software, documentation, utilities and program scripts, and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Skills:
As the ETL Developer, you will be involved in the design, documentation, development, testing, install and support of data extract, transformation and load (ETL) programs. The successful candidate will have the ability to take the logical data model and use ETL skills to load the physical layer. Understanding of when data should be loaded, how data should be transformed, and optimizing ETL load performance is a critical part of this job. Strong understanding of the Data Stage/Quality Stage ETL tools is required.
Ability to work in a fast paced co-operative environment to accomplish common goals. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Skills:
• Experience with DataStage v.8
• Ability to interpret Functional Specs for data stage needs
• Ability to interpret Mapping Documents
• Reports to Data Conversion Lead
• Ability to follow project standards for documentation
• Excel, Unix, TOAD, Oracle experience needed
• SAP data conversion experience a plus
