Position: Oracle Database Developer

Location: KY

Duration: 6+Months

 

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The database developer is responsible for the technical analysis, design, development, testing and documentation of programs and reports using Oracle and SQL Server databases.

 JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Develop applications and reports using Microsoft's Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services.
• Develop business intelligence solutions using Spotfire and Analysis Services or similar OLAP type tools.
• Develop programs to transfer, extract, transform and load data in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Implement business requirements using programs, databases and reporting tools.
• Create technical design documentation.
• Create unit and functional testing.
• Automating repetitive tasks.
• Carry a Blackberry for after hour support.
• Develop and modify shell scripts.
• Assist other business units with data needs.
• Enforce accuracy and data audit standards.
• Work with quality assurance team members to support testing efforts.
• Ensure work follows software development lifecycle and source code management standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Four-year degree in computer science and a minimum of five years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Work with minimal guidance, self starter.
• Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases as well as very strong background with SQL and query tuning.
• Able to adapt to changes and new requirements.
• Expertise with SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
• Experience with Crystal Reports and ETL processes.
• Able to provide reasonable estimates on completion dates.
• Experience with Linux/Unix as well as Windows for development and execution.
• Expertise with scripting tools.
