Linux Developer

Position: C++ / Linux Developer

Seeking a C++ programmer with expertise in Linux. The candidate should enjoy working in various disciplines of the software engineering process, including improvement and porting of legacy code, software installation and maintenance, as well as design and implementation. Good documentation, communication, and team skills required.  

3-5 years of work experience in Software Development

Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented design and development

Demonstrable experience developing C++ applications

In-depth understanding of Linux operating system and development practices: User and Linux system programming experience (network sockets, etc)

Strong understanding of PC architectures, PC components and PCI bus architecture

Linux kernel development experience:  Knowledge / development experience of core kernel components on top of just programming experience with the Linux kernel driver API would be a good plus. 

Additionally, experience in any combination of the following is a plus: 

Strong Linux sysadmin / configuration type skills

Virtualization / Xen

Linux kernel internals

Linux scripting

Network programming (sockets and TCP/IP)

Experience with open source projects

Security

JavaScript / HTML / CSS

XML parsing / generation

X Windows
