Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead design/development of QA load / automation tools and test frameworks

• Collaborate with developers and other QA leads to improve testability, automation, and tools.

• Work with the team to increase the test coverage using Java (TestNG, Junit) and scripting languages (Javascript, Perl, or Python)

• Train junior engineers and the offshore team in automation and best practices

• Lead and execute both testing and releases during all stages of development of clients and servers

• Work with development and operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of automation

• Define and implement testing and verification strategies

• Work on multiple projects / initiatives

 

Qualifications : 

• BS in Computer Science – 10+ years of experience in development and/or QA with proven experience in implementing automation strategy

• 6+ yrs of hands on API/Webservices automation experience using Java (TestNG, Junit) and/or scripting languages (javascript, perl, etc.)

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, web technology and protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP)

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix OS and shell scripting

• Experience in creating automation frameworks for functional / regression testing

• Demonstrated technical leadership and influence in previous position

• Ability to multitask, resolve competing priorities, and meet tight project deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and of exceptional character

 • Comfortable working in an agile and startup environment

 

Desired skills:

• Experience in large scale data processing environment

• Strong experience in database technologies

• Experienced in open source QA tools such as Selenium
