DESCRIPTION: This position will act as a web hosting system engineer for the GTI CIS Web Implementation team. Responsibilities include the design, installation, configuration and integration of web platform software to host complex applications in UNIX and Windows environments. Hosting responsibilities will encompass security, access control, load-balancing, datasources, one and two-way SSL setup and certificates. The position will also serve as project resource to devise and coordinate the conversion of existing web environments to new web platforms.
SKILLS:
• Extensive experience in installing, configuring and tuning web server and web application software including WebLogic, Websphere, IIS and Apache/Tomcat using both command line and console interfaces
• Experience in evaluating web architecture requirements and designs; ability to organize inter-dependent tasks and estimate the required effort
• Familiarity with Java/J2EE web application configuration and deployments
• Demonstrated track-record of success in working in project teams to support the build and/or upgrade of enterprise scale web applications
• A minimum of five years experience in administering and supporting large complex web applications in a large corporate environment
• Experience with Solaris, AIX, Linux and Windows operating systems and associated systems tools and scripting languages
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Develops technical vision and roadmaps without supervision. Writes for publication. Shares long-term technical and business vision to large audiences on a regular basis. Makes decisions of a global, strategic nature by analyzing complex data systems and incorporating knowledge of other lines of business. Is recognized as a positive leader and is capable of defusing complicated interpersonal issues while managing customer expectations. Spearheads complex programs that span multiple inter-organizational units and interfaces with more experienced management. Is a leader in identifying critical, high pay-off technology strategies and prioritizes team efforts accordingly. Possesses advanced knowledge of business application and services. Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.

(8) Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms
(9) Technical certifications as required. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.
